Fact: The average cost of tuition at a public university in South Carolina is $12,848 a year. The average cost at a SC tech college? $4,465. We’re pretty sure you can find something better to do with the extra $8000 a year you’ll save by choosing a South Carolina technical education. Through Lottery Tuition Assistance and the SC•Wins Scholarship Program we also help supplement the cost of tuition and fees so that you can get the training and skills you need at a fraction of the cost.
Fact: We provide one of the state’s most flexible paths to a higher education. Transfer programs create access to four-year colleges and universities for technical college students and graduates, and we have transfer agreements with more than 20 colleges and universities throughout the state. If you have your sights set on a degree we don’t offer, you can take your core classes at your local technical college and then transfer when you’re ready. The transfer process is easy peasy. (Bonus: You’ll save major $$$ by doing so!)
Fact: We know that learning is about more than what happens in the classroom. Our colleges offer a variety of clubs, organizations and ways to get involved with the campus community. Between service organizations and recreational activities and events, you’ll have the opportunity to build life-long friendships throughout your college experience.
Fact: We offer 78 degrees, 28 diplomas and nearly 1,000 certificate programs, as well as online and in-person classes so you can build a schedule that works for your life. You have obligations. A work schedule to plan around. Maybe you’re a night owl who just doesn’t love the thought of waking up for that 8 a.m. class. We get it. Our colleges work with you to make your schedule work for you.
Ready to follow your
dreams and defy expectation?
Our graduates have a 90% job placement rate in their field of study. That’s no accident; it’s a testament to the kind of people who choose SC technical colleges and the education they receive here. We consider ourselves the greatest champions and cheerleaders for our students. We know their names and we know their stories. It’s not just about setting students up for a job, it’s about helping people we care about design the future of their dreams. We’ve got plenty of statistics and data (and you can find that here if you’re into that kind of thing), but we believe the greatest testament to a South Carolina technical education can be found in the success of our students.
